Happy B.C. Day!

I hope that you all are enjoying a beautiful, sunshine-filled B.C. day. After a cool summer, today is quite a treat!

To celebrate B.C. day, I thought I'd post about a local B.C. composer - Stephen Chatman. Stephen Chatman was born in the U.S., but later moved here to British Columbia. He has been the head of the composition division of the UBC School of Music, and in 1988 became British Columbia's first composer in residence. Aside from choral music, he also writes piano music and orchestral works.

I chose to post Remember, one of Stephen Chatman's choral works, because I have sung it with the British Columbia Youth Choir; it is as beautiful to sing as it is to listen to!
